Hang on for a minute...we're trying to find some more stories you might like.

October 21st, 2015  the girls volleyball team had their first state game this season. Independence was the opponent and they put up a good fight, both teams struggled for the win until the end in both games.

DaVinci won the first game with a final score of 25-11 and winning it all in the second game with a score of 25-22.

Emotions were thrown around as both teams kept taking a lead but in the end DaVinci took home the win after fighting so hard. Independence did a good job and put up an amazing fight.

“Well we had beaten the team before so we felt pretty confident, everyone was really pumped since it was the first game of state and everything. There was a little bit of pressure but nothing we couldn’t handle,” said Isabell Echols (#2) who was one of the girls playing at the game.

Abby Van Vossen said, “We have found out as a team that we play better under pressure. We are all scared and nervous about loosing but if we think about that kind of stuff it can make you over think and mess up more.”

No matter how much pressure the team had they still brought home the win.

Unfortunately DaVinci lost to Freedom Academy in the finals. Overall the girls brought home Second Place in the state tourney.
